Season 2009/2010 got of to a decent start and continued succsess in cup competitions kept the club with full fixture lists right up to the winter months, but a serious backlog of league games was creeping up behind them.
And after a horrendous winter that saw fixture after fixture decimated by the bad weather the league games backlog was going to be the downfall of Kincorths Season.
After Feb 2010 had passed Kincorth as had many other clubs found themselves having to play 3 games a week until the season ended and losing important players through injury which in most cases were fatigue related and the losing of important players through indiscipline and eventual suspensions meant it was going to be a painfull end to Kincorths season.
Failing in most cup competitions at the semi final stages was the order of the day but a fantastic run right to the final of the North Of Scotland Cup would be the highlight of a dreadfull season, and in the final KIncorth met Sportsmans Club who despite their mediocre season managed on the day to extinguish the only flicker of light on Kincorths season when they defeated us after extra time in some may say against the run of play.
After March 2010 Kincorth found themselves embrioled in a relegation battle as no fewer than eight clubs were involved with survival in a very competitive league where four automatic relegation places are up for grabs.
But in a season where ups downs and big lows were the order of the day Kincorth again proved how resolute they can be and eventually finished with ease in 5th position, one place lower than Season 2008/2009.
Overall a season that promised so much ended with no silverware but a plus on the playing front as a lot of their performances on the pitch showed that the mighty KC are well placed to take on Season 2010 /2011 with confidence.
